3^rd National COMDECA & 8^th National Rover Moot

Sirajganj, 2001

The 3^rd National Community Development (COMDECA) was hold along with 8^th National Rover Moot at Sirajgonj District Town Protection Embankment area from 28^th December 2001 to 4^th January 2002.

Comdeca inaugurated by the then honorable President & Chief Scout of Bangladesh Professor Dr. AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury on 298 December 2001 at 11.00am.

Mr. M. Fazlur Rahman, Chief National Commissioner of Bangladesh was the COMDECA Chief. There were 6 Sub-camps in the COMDECA while a separate camp was for girls participants. The sub-camps were name after 6 training center of Bangladesh Scouts, such as:

a. Mouchak Sub-camp

b. Bahadurpur Sub-camp

c. Muktagachha Sub-camp

d. Poolerhat Sub-camp

e. Nowdapara Sub-camp

f. Lalmai Sub-camp

The Main attraction of Comdeca was its Challenging Programme. Comdeca programme was divided into 16 Challenges, such as

1. Camp craft	2. First Aid	3. Pioneering	4. Water Activities
5. Obstacle	6. Hiking (Rover)	7. Social Awareness	8. Community Development
9. Science & Technology Project	10. Game	11. Exhibition	12. Funny Match
13. Know Thyself	14. Target 2004	15. General Knowledge	16. Camp Fire

Apart from these challenges, there are more events in COMDECA, such as

a. B.P. P.T.

b. Youth Forum

c. Youth Parliament

d. Wood Badge Re-union

e. Amateur Radio Station

f. Free Time

A numbers of distinguished Guests were present in different COMDECA events, they were

1. Dr. Osman Farooq, Minister for Education

2. Dr. Khondoker Mosharrof Hossain, Minister for Health & Family Welfare

3. Mr. Mosharref Hossain Shahjahan, State Minister for Religious Affairs.

4. Mr. Iqbal Hassan Mahmud State Minister for Energy.

5. Mr. Alamgir Kabir, State Minister for Housing & Public Works

6. Mr. Md. Abdusl Salam Pintu, Deputy Minister for Education

A total of 2320 Scouts, 1568 Rovers, 486 Unit Leaders, 260 Officials, 130 Rover Volunteers,, 40 Doctors & Nurses, 18 ESC staff, 18 Fire Services staffs and 10 Agri-Varsity Staffs attended the CPMDECA.
